We always recommend speaking with your energy supplier first, they have a range of ways that could help you. This will remove any unwanted communications which can often lead to increased anxiety.
Energy suppliers will always offer a payment plan tailored to what you can afford after completing an I&E form (income and expenditure), making payments manageable for you. Suppliers will also signpost any relevant payment schemes and independent debt advice - which can also be found via the button below on our webpage.
You are eligible for a £150 credit towards your energy bill if either you're on a low income or you receive the 'Guarantee credit element of Pension Credit'. In Scotland eligibility can differ based on your suppliers' criteria. However it is important you apply through your supplier at the earliest opportunity.
